The Patriarch of the McGee Family, My Dad!

Today my Dad will be laid to rest along the side of my Mother, in the Suburb of Chicago. As I thought about my Dad on the 5th. of Dec. though he was dead, he was spending his last night in Tennessee. Born and raised in Moscow Tennessee, Fayette County, in Aug of 1933.
What a heritage & legacy that I have through my Dad. One that I am proud of, one that I'll cherish and respect. My Dad was a very intelligent man, though he only had a 3rd. grade education. I was many times amazed at his knowledge, the things that he knew and the things that he could do.
I'm thankful for all of the good times we shared together, all of the conversations, the laughs and the list could go on and on. There were lots of things he taught me, I find myself even to this day asking the question, what would my Dad do? Sometimes, when I'm out in my shop working on a project, I'll come across a tool that my Dad gave me years ago and ponder the time when he gave it to me, I guess that will be the case even more, in the days and years ahead.
One other thing, I'll share here in my tribute to my Dad, I taught him how to drive a "BIG RIG", yes a Tractor Trailer, boy did we have fun! We even bought some trucks and went into the Trucking Business up there in Chicago.
Memories? Oh yes! I have a bunch, and they will linger in my heart for many years to come and they will be cherished by me and my family.
Speaking of family, my precious Son, Josh and I were talking just the other day and he said Daddy, you know Grandpa has been the Patriarch of our family all these years and now he has past the mantle on to you in his death, what a sobering thought as that thought struck me, me! a Patriarch?
Yes! a Patriarch!! That's what my Dad was to our family and for that to be past on to me, from him, what a honor! These will be big shoes to fill, but I'll do my very best!
My prayer is that my Dad will rest in peace, until the time, God would allow us to meet again.
I love you and I'll really miss you Dad!!
Frank ~
