Food for Thought!

Many of you have heard me talk about my New 36 inch Blackstone Griddle,
which I really enjoy! Well recently, a friend of mine built this grill for me and I really enjoy cooking on it, the food has been fabulous! My wife is always asking, SO! when are you cooking again? this statement is really funny to both of us because of this reason. Until the Blackstone Griddle, I NEVER did any cooking, I must say, I'm really enjoying it! She is too by the way!  I know this is not a spiritual subject, but if we don't eat, my spirit will leave my body and I won't be putting anything on the site, I'm sure you understand!  :-)

Oh! What a Day!
 

This morning, as I stepped out into my backyard with my coffee to take in the wonderful beauty of God's creation, it was so evident of his marvelous works.
 
As I stood on my patio gazing up into the trees and the sky, the leaves were falling, I could actually hear the sounds of the morning as the leaves would snap from the trees and fall to the ground.
 
It was so cool and crisp and the sound was so faint, but yet amazing at the same time.
 
How great is our God!  I stood in awe as I listened to the quietness of his workings.
Hard to really explain, you just have to experience it for yourself.
 
We take so much for granted in our daily lives, remember the old saying, " stop and smell the roses along the way".
 
I hope this is a fabulous day for you and that God shows himself to you in a mighty way!

The Patriarch of the McGee Family, My Dad!

Today my Dad will be laid to rest along the side of my Mother, in the Suburb of Chicago. As I thought about my Dad on the 5th. of Dec. though he was dead, he was spending his last night in Tennessee. Born and raised in Moscow Tennessee, Fayette County, in  Aug of 1933. 

What a heritage & legacy that I have through my Dad. One that I am proud of, one that I'll cherish and respect. My Dad was a very intelligent man, though he only had a 3rd. grade education. I was many times amazed at his knowledge, the things that he knew and the things that he could do.

I'm thankful for all of the good times we shared together, all of the conversations, the laughs and the list could go on and on. There were lots of things he taught me, I find myself even to this day asking the question, what would my Dad do?  Sometimes, when I'm out in my shop working on a project, I'll come across a tool that my Dad gave me years ago and ponder the time when he gave it to me, I guess that will be the case even more, in the days and years ahead.

One other thing, I'll share here in my tribute to my Dad, I taught him how to drive a "BIG RIG", yes a Tractor Trailer, boy did we have fun! We even bought some trucks and went into the Trucking Business up there in Chicago.

Memories? Oh yes! I have a bunch, and they will linger in my heart for many years to come and they will be cherished by me and my family.

Speaking of family, my precious Son, Josh and I were talking just the other day and he said Daddy, you know Grandpa has been the Patriarch of our family all these years and now he has past the mantle on to you in his death, what a sobering thought as that thought struck me, me! a Patriarch?

Yes! a Patriarch!! That's what my Dad was to our family and for that to be past on to me, from him, what a honor! These will be big shoes to fill, but I'll do my very best!

My prayer is that my Dad will rest in peace, until the time, God would allow us to meet again. 

I love you and I'll really miss you Dad!!

We've all heard folks complain about having a " bad day!"
But think about this, if we would really be honest,
whenever these times come,
they usually only last a few minutes.
But let me let you in a little TRUTH!
Some folks, "Milk it the rest of the day! ".
 
Every day is a gift from God, it's up to us what we do with it, we can dwell on the things that are uncomfortable or we can ask God to give us the strength to carry on and help us to help someone else not to have a bad day.
 
The Scripture says this! 
Psalm 118:24
This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

The POWER of a PRAYING MOTHER!
 
Yesterday, I spoke with a very dear friend of ours up in Kentucky.
In fact, several years ago, I use to be their Pastor, these are wonderful folks, very precious and they love God.
 
But for the last 7 months, this mother has sat by her son who is in the hospital and
who is very sick and have given them very little hope, so many things going wrong physically, but we still trust God, in the midst of this turmoil, after all, this is what we believe in, trusting God! 
 
In all honesty, I was at a loss for words. I've never been in a situation such as this, so I couldn't speak from experience, as to say I know how you feel, because I truly don't, I've never been there.
 
The most beautiful thing about the situation is the fact that God knows the end from the beginning and everything in between.
 
My Prayer is that God will continue to uphold this family in this very disturbing time in their lives.
 
We serve a very merciful God and I ask for his mercy in this situation and for strength for this entire family.
 
Please join with me in Prayer for this precious family,
the Storms and the young mans name is Timmy.

What a joy to know that God has given us so many things in life to enjoy. He has made a provision for us with so many options. I remember going to the car dealer and the salesman would say, you can get this or this or if you want, we can even add this! Of course, that all comes with a price, but God has given us so many things to enjoy and they are ours for FREE!! Everybody like free.
 
I trust that this will be a day that you walk in an understanding, that God is giving us another opportunity to enjoy his bountiful blessings!

Great Day In The Morning!! ...Is a saying, that I have said for years now.
But the truth is, everyday is a great day morning, noon or night!
When I think about greatness, I think about how great our God is and how he blesses those that will serve him on a daily basis, not just when they are in trouble, or when things aren't going their way.
There are a lot of folks that call themselves Christians, but you can't tell it by their actions. They are Christians when they need more than what they can provide for their present situation, kind of like a "spare tire god"  or perhaps a rabbit's foot, you only use it when you need it.
My Ole Granddaddy use to always say, " if they're a Christian, then the woods are full of them!"
When was the last time you saw someone on the side of the road just changing a tire because they thought it was fun, or because they need the exercise?
No! they were in trouble and needed to keep moving so they had to change the tire, that's how some folks serve God, they only call on him when they are in trouble, or when something is needed, yet they call themselves Christians, SORRY!! Not so.  We must be diligent about seeking after God, daily, all the time, regardless of what might be going on around us.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
 
I hope this day is a Wonderful day for you and that you make yourself available to God and then I know he'll make himself available to you.

                                  The Vanishing Breed!

       After four decades of Preaching, Pastoring and conducting hundreds of Revivals all over the country, Sis. McGee and I, have had the privilege of  becoming close friends with some of the most Anointed and Highest Caliber Ministers God has ever called to Preach his Word!
       Over the last several years and recently, we have lost some of these dear sweet friends, powerful men of God and their spouses, they have gone on to their Heavenly Reward, but oh! how I miss them.
         I call them, "The Vanishing Breed!" These were all men of God that stood for Truth, Holiness, Clean living and Sound Doctrine. Not to say that the Preachers of this day, that are still hanging on, are not being used of God, but there is a difference.
I long to hear the wisdom of these that have stirred the hearts of Gods people, preaching till the sweat from their bodies drips in their shoes, to reach the souls of them that are lost and those that are struggling with difficulties.    
I'm thankful for Pastors that are still Preaching the Word of God without fear or favor!

Wow! 

Where has the time gone?  it's been ages since I've posted anything. So much has happened over this long span of time, it may also take some time to get back into the groove as they say.

One thing about all that has happened over this span of time, is simply this, " I have NO complaints!".

Does that mean that everything has been good? or NO problems?  ...No! not at all!  It just means that the God I serve is SO powerful and his blessings have renewed me day after day, I really have nothing to complain about.

I am going to try and go back and see where I left off and try to pick up there, or, I may just dive in and high light some of the things that have been going on over this long period of time.

I trust that this will find those of you that come my way on this blog doing wonderful and being blessed of God.

Don't you just love this time of year!!!

A time when you can reach into peoples lives and be a strength to them in perhaps their most unpleasant situations.

Borrowed for a short time and returned.

 
 
What a thought, a borrowed tomb, why buy something you are only going to use for a few days?
 
This is exactly what Jesus did. The Word of God tells us that Joseph gave up his very own tomb, a NEW Tomb mind you, for the body of Jesus to be laid in, but this would only be a temporary stay.
 
Mat 27:58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
Mat 27:59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
Mat 27:60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulcher, and departed.
Three days in the tomb and our LORD is risen to life again, this makes me so thankful for what I call " Resurrection Sunday, " a day to remember how Jesus was returned from the grave and one day to return again for his Bride.
 
My prayer is that this day will be a reminder to you as the old song says;
" Up From The Grave He Arose ".
