Blessed & Kept!

We have a promise of what he will do, our job is to TRUST him!

Give, and it shall be given!

  • Luk 6:38  Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Think about the Scripture above:

  • YOU ONLY GET TO KEEP WHAT YOU GIVE AWAY!

Try it, and see if it won’t come back to you, over and over again!

Sometimes, you just have to Stand Still!

  • Exo 14:13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day:

Sometimes in our situations, we’ve tried to do everything ourselves and NOTHING seem to work, perhaps it’s then, we need Stand Still and let God MOVE!

Share some kindness and it always comes back.

  • Eph 4:32  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

How about finding someone and do something nice for them today; it doesn’t have to be anything so outlandish, just something thoughtful.

Did I hear! …What if you find more than one?!   “Go for it!” wouldn’t you like to have more blessings poured out on you?

What more could we want?

We live in a world where we have what is termed as information overload. More books, how to books, and so much information, it’s would be impossible to understand it all.

In most cases, it wouldn’t even benefit us to know all there is to know about some subjects; we just need to know, “What we need to know”.

How many of us have needs in our lives? Knowing that the only way to get the job done, is to have God himself to intervene on our behalf, but yet, so many times we wonder, we worry,  how will this get done, and how will God do this or that?  Well friend! May I say to you today, bring your needs to God and leave it there before him, let him work it all out however he decides to do it!

…and guess what?    “That’s all you need to know!”

...sometimes you just need to keep what you got!

  • Pro 1:19  So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain;

“A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush,” also sometimes given as, “A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush,” is a proverb saying that it is better to stick with something you already have, rather than pursuing something you may never get. This proverb is a very popular warning, widely used in many English-speaking countries.

The phrase seems to have originated at some point in the 13th century, in a related Latin form: Plus valet in manibus avis unica quam dupla silvis. This can be loosely translated as, “A bird in the hand is worth more than two in the woods.”

The basic warning of “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush,” is that you must take care not to get too greedy in life. If you are holding a bird in the hand, you have your meal for the evening. You can take that one bird, and be well fed. If instead you let it go to pursue two birds you’ve spied in a bush, you may catch neither, and wind up hungry for the night. This proverb points out that by passing up a sure thing for a more promising possibility, you also run the risk of losing both the sure thing and the promising possibility.

Just a good ole thought...

"Then to the Dogs"

The Turks, having tortured and slain the parents of a little Armenian girl before her eyes, turned to the child and said: "will you renounce your faith in Jesus, and live?" She replied, "I will not."

"Then to the dogs!" She was thrown into a kennel of savage and famished dogs and left there. The next morning, they came and looked in, to see the little girl on her knees praying, and beside her the largest and the most savage of all the dogs, snapping at every dog that ventured near, thus protecting the child.

You see, God has a way of protecting and caring for his own, God knows where you are today in whatever situation you are dealing with, pray and cry out to him in your time of trouble and see if he won't be to you, what you need him to be.

Friend

  • Pro   A friend loveth at all times;

Do you have a friend to pray with you?
To help get that prayer, you prayed through
One that would stand, close by your side
When the enemy comes, he won’t run and hide

A friend that knows you, yes when you’re down
But still don’t mind, coming around
He’ll call out your name to God, when you’re not around
Yes, this is a true friend, which you have found

He knows some of your weaknesses and your low times
But he never forgets and you’re on his mind
He’s been your friend, through the thick and thin
You can count on him, time and time again

He knows how you’ll respond and about what you’ll do
But can this ole friend, count on you?

  • Exo   And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

Whatever you may be facing today, if you stay where you are, you only have the same thing to deal with, but if you make up in your mind and heart to “go forward” you get to choose your destiny.

Let’s Go Forward!

Gal 5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

What good is a half truth? None at all!

Some people think because they have a little truth from their preacher they will be alright on judgment day. Because these people don't steal from anyone, or they haven't killed anyone, they think they are okay with God.  That thought is so devilish and deceiving and is causing people to lose out with God and they don't even realize it. But they just go their merry way and will be eternally LOST!

I was speaking with a de-nominal preacher here a few days ago, he has a fairly large congregation and while he was a very sweet man and we were having a biblical conversation, I could tell that he was misleading his entire congregation down a slippery slope to hell.

What was it that I noticed? He had just enough truth to make the lies he was telling believable, that's where the extreme danger was. The sad part of this is that his people take his word for it and they don't study it for themselves.

Someone says how do you know? Because anyone that would believe what he was telling me and keep this fellow in their pulpit don't have a clue as to what the WORD of God says concerning the TRUTH!

Remember, the Bible does not say "The truth will set you free!"

    • John And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Here before you even know it!

The Tsunami that hit Japan this week and the wake of disaster that followed, all without much warning.

Isn’t it amazing that we live in such a technological age and yet it’s almost impossible for people to even get a simple phone call through to check on loved ones?

Simple? Only to those that take these things for granted, how many of these simple things that we enjoy in life, do we take for granted?

Keep in mind, this destruction that came, appeared so quickly, without much notice or forewarning, when I think of this, I think about how Jesus will appear to gather his bride when he comes again, and he will come again! In an hour when you think not!

I am looking for him and I am loving his appearing, Come LORD Jesus!

    God in his stillness.

Psa 46:10  Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Usually when things are still it’s because nothing is going on.  Imagine that! When it seems as though nothing is happening, seems like in your situation there are no answers, but yet, he keeps on being God.

He will be exalted among those that thought they would never have to answer to him; he will be exalted even in the earth. Just think of the people that think they own the earth. God says, in that very place, that you think you own, it will be in that place that you will exalt me, and they will know that I am God.

I am so glad that I know which side I’m on!

    How sharp is your ax?

Two fellows were hired to go out in the woods to start cutting down trees with old timber axes, and then stacking up the wood as they chopped it; they both worked very hard cutting up the wood. One of these men happened to be several years older than the other, but still strong and in pretty good shape, both of these men would be paid according to the amount of wood they were able to cut each day, they were both working diligently and this went on for about a week.

The older of the two, about every hour or so would leave for a few minutes and then he would make his way back and without hesitation he would once again start chopping.

Well! The young man looked at the two piles of wood and noticed, his pile was not quite as much as the older mans, even though he had worked diligently, and usually he even kept chopping when the older man left for a break for a few minutes every so often.

This really had the young man concerned, so, he thought he would ask the question, how do you do it? He said, I’m working just as hard, and without being rude, maybe even harder than you, I also notice every little while you leave for a smoke break and then you mossy on back and you’re at it again, but you still have more wood stacked up than I do, how can this be? Would you mind telling me?

The elder man chuckled just a little and sat restfully on a log nearby, he invited the young man to sit down beside him and to take their break together this time.

The elder gentleman said Son, it’s like this, you see, you’ve got it all wrong; I’m a Christian man and have been for many years, God has been very good to me and he’s blessed me with good health, and he has taught me some very valuable lessons down through life, and NO! I don’t smoke! So when I was gone for those few moments on that smoke break that you though I was taking, here’s what I was actually doing.

I guess, about a couple hundred yards down through the woods there, there’s a beautiful rushing creek, in fact, if you listen real close, you can hear the water rushing even as we speak, the young man spoke up, Yeah! “I can hear it now” and right next to that creek is a massive rock, when I would take off every little while, it was then that I would take that ole ax and sharpen it on that rock, you see, you can cut a lot more wood with a sharp ax than you can with a dull one, not to mention, it sure was a good time for me to steal away and talk to my Master for a few minutes.

About that that time, a great big ole smile came across that young man’s face, he said, the next time you go, can I go with you? The elder gentle just looked at the young man and smiled, and said, “Son, I’d be delighted!”.

Note: Whenever you are witnessing to someone, be sure to have your ax sharp so to speak, be ready, be as prepared as possible, give God a good representation.

What if it’s all a hoax?

Have you ever had someone ask you the question, what if when it’s all over, there really is NO hereafter? No God, No Heaven, No Hell, nothing, just gone!

Well, if that would be the case, then nothing, would really matter would it?  Let’s continue the thought out though, what if there is? And you have not prepared? You are then ETERNALLY LOST, because of ignorance!

I certainly wouldn’t want to go to hell because of my neglect, even though, I can say, with what I have read, believed, felt, and have trusted in, for all these years, I am looking forward to that Great and Notable day, when the Saint’s Go Marching in!

I guess, I just have to personally say, I refuse to believe it any other way, if you would ask me why? I would have to say, because of what I have felt in my spirit for so many years.

Know the TRUTH! Live the truth, and trust him, his Name is Jesus!

I’m glad that I’m heaven bound!

Three things one must do to be saved:
    1. Repentance ; to be godly sorry for your sins. The dying out to ones self.
    2. Be Baptized ; In water, by immersion, in the only saving name, JESUS CHRIST. The burial.
    3. Infilling of the Holy Ghost ; with the evidence of Speaking in tongues. Walking in the resurrection or the newness of life. Old things passed away!

Just as Jesus did for us; death, burial & resurrection.

    Solutions are God’s Business!

    •  Luk 2:47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
Were it not for problems, there would be no solutions; we wouldn’t really know how it feels to have to trust God to take care of us.

We would also miss out on the developing of a close and intimate relationship with God.

I’m talking about one where we really begin to learn about him and what he expects from us during our tuff times, times where we know fully well, if he don’t do it, it just won’t get done.

These are times of very intense growth; we become more and more dependent on God by choice, because we learn that his ways are much higher and different than ours.

I’m not by any means saying start praying for troubles, but by all means, when they come, fret not, don’t run, it’s time to trust him and just watch how he works his way in our lives and how people around us become effected by his miraculous working power.

Rev 21:2  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Rev 21:3  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
Rev 21:4  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Rev 21:5  And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
Rev 21:6  And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

My God provides more than Serendipity.

    Serendipity:  good Luck, good fortune, the faculty of making fortunate discoveries by accident;
I make NO apologies, this word does NOT describe the God that I serve.

Gen   And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

    Jehovah Jireh - My Provider

Genesis introduces the name of God as being a provider. God is shown as being a provider to Abraham when he was faithful and took his son Isaac up to the mountains to be a sacrifice. That place was named Jehovah Jireh because it was where a God provided himself a sacrifice.

There are NO accidents when it comes to the provision that God has for his people, they are precise, and they are divinely appointed (given) by God himself.

When you think about it, the job that God has is much more difficult than ours, we believe, he provides!   …Is it really that simple? It’s just that simple!

A very much needed time of Refreshing.

    • Act   Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Have you ever just felt like it would feel so good to have a refreshing in your life?

Well, it comes from having a spirit of repentance, a willingness to come clean within ourselves and for us to allow God to take control of our lives so our sins may be expunged or expelled, that we may walk in that freshness that God would have us to walk in.

How long has it been since you really poured out your soul unto God? And took the things in your life that are not right, and made them right with God by a real old fashion spirit of repentance, perhaps this could be that day, now, is not too late!

Keep turning the pages there's a NEW CHAPTER coming!

    • I'm borrowing a thought from a friend, when he reads this he’ll know who he is.
Has your life ever felt like a book? Perhaps not one that is full of all types of right now excitement, things that are fun, invigorating, and happy.

But perhaps things that are questionable, things that leave you feeling empty, unsure and maybe even all alone.

Well my friend lift up your head, because a New Chapter is about to begin. I believe that God is doing so many exciting things in these last days, things that can make us, or at least help us, to feel a new realm of VICTORY!

Remember! The Word of God teaches us that David ENCOURAGED himself in the Lord his God.

    • 1Sa 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.

So close but yet so far!

    • Act 26:28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

Florence May Chadwick (November 9, 1918 – March 15, 1995) was an American swimmer who was the first woman to swim the English Channel in both directions. She also made contributions to various youth groups.

She was born in San Diego on November 9, 1918. Chadwick had her first swimming competition win at the age of ten, and at the age of eleven competed in her first "challenging" competition, a rough water swim. She placed fourth in the event.

Chadwick's biggest contribution to swimming history occurred on August 8, 1950, when she crossed the English Channel in 13 hours and 20 minutes, breaking the then-current world record held by American swimmer Gertrude Ederle. One year later, Chadwick crossed the English Channel yet again, from England to France; this time, in 16 hours and 22 minutes, thus making her the first woman to swim the English Channel in both directions, and setting a record for the England-France journey.

In 1952, Florence attempted to swim the 26 miles between Catalina Island and the California coastline. As she began, she was flanked by small boats that watched for sharks and were prepared to help her if she got hurt or grew tired. After about 15 hours a thick fog set in. Florence began to doubt her ability, and she told her mother, who was in one of the boats, that she didn’t think she could make it. She swam for another hour before asking to be pulled out, unable to see the coastline due to the fog. As she sat in the boat, she found out she had stopped swimming just one mile away from her destination.

Get your eyes on the goal and never take your eyes off of where you are going, even when the fog of life tries to come in and obscure your vision, you must keep going in order to get the prize at the end.

I refuse to STOP! I know the finish line must be close, so I will forge ahead.

    • Psa 69:16  Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.

Who but God, could show mercy as he does? Notice, his mercies are plenteous, as they come from him in great number (multitude) and they are tender.

    Keep the Change!

"What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly."

For many years I’ve been singing a song called “There’s been a change in me” that song tells the story of the change that has taken place in my life, from a wretched sinner to a God called Preacher, full of the sweet Holy Ghost and Baptized in the sweet wonderful name of Jesus.

I am so thankful for the difference God has made in my life, and if he did it for me, he can do it for you, it’s called surrender!

    Being sorry for your sin and coming to that place of repentance, then obeying the Word of God in;
    ·         Acts Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Now it’s time to receive the sweet gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as God desires for you to do.

    ·         Act 2:4  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

I continue to pray for my blog friends that you will read the Word of God and realize what is missing in your life, I pray that it gets a hold of you as it did me, some 30 plus years ago and that it makes a change in your life.

Oh by the way! …Like we always tell the waitress after receiving good service, when it does happen to you    … “ Keep the Change!”.

How does one believe for the future when you can’t see a thing up ahead? You MUST look at the track record of the past.

Not one place to my knowledge has God ever failed!  That alone my friend should help us to keep moving ahead, regardless of the circumstances set before us. Victory Ahead!

"The wages of sin is death. Repent before payday."

    • Rom   For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
There comes a time when a person has to give an account for the things they have done, it only makes sense to settle the account early.

Some think they are getting by, they will be dreadfully sorry, but it will be too late!

Repent!! ...Today is the day of Salvation.

    You will give an answer!

    • Num 32:23  But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.

Some people live in such a way, that they think they will never give an account for things that they do wrong.

Nothing goes un-notice when it comes to God, people that know you may not see the error of your ways, but God has an all seeing eye and you will give an answer.

Put your sin under the blood of Jesus according to scripture, and he will give you direction that will help you in ways that you have never imagined.

Face it today, so you won’t face it tomorrow!

    Everlasting Mercy!

    ·        Psa 103:17  But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;

His mercies are to those that will serve him with a whole heart and fear him, meaning, reverence him in all things.

If you need mercy, he has an abundant supply, are you getting your share?

Praise be unto God, and his Name Jesus! to be lifted up throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity.

Cook County Jail Chicago, ILL. Chaplain.

Many years ago I met this little lady and I will never forget her love for God.

She was a Sweet Little Holy Ghost Filled Sister in the Lord.
Mother Consuella York, I knew her very well when I was with the Cook County Sheriff’s Dept. many years ago in Chicago. She was my friend and she would always let you know that she loved you in Jesus. She was also the Cook County Jail Chaplain for nearly 40 years.  She touched many lives; I was blessed to know her.

Listen to her short recording and see if see won’t encourage your day!

    Safe Keeping!

    • Psa 121:5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
We have all at one time or another taken something that had value to us and took special care with that item, perhaps we put it away for SAFE KEEPING, we took the time to tend to it in a very different way from all of the other things that we have. The reason we do this is because it has some un-ordinary meaning to us.

God created a people so that we would have fellowship with him and give our love and communion toward him in a continual way, for this in return, he takes special care of those that offer this to him and he becomes their keeper.

What a peace to know that the Lord is my keeper, he's watching over his people and he is keeping his protection upon them day and night.

Whatever you may be going through today, if you will let God strengthen you and direct you what a joy you will experience in your life, for he becomes your keeper.

A Standard with meaning & purpose!

    ·         KJV. Isa 59:19  So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

    Let’s Read it again!

    ·      Isa 59:19  So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in, like a flood the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

This thought was given to me by a dear friend, so I can’t take the credit; but I sure love the thought.

Read this verse above several times from your Bible:  KING JAMES VERSION, out loud, then; read this verse to someone you care about OUT LOUD.

I have changed only the punctuation (not the word) in order to put the emphasis in a different perspective.

This verse takes on a whole new understanding of power given by God himself to keep the enemy in his place.

    Strength that comes from God.

Have you ever been in a crowd of folks and still felt all alone? Yeah! Me too!  Loneliness is a frame of mind my friend.  Imagine that, people all around you, yet you still feel lonely.

What is it that really makes us feel complete, or whole if you will? We have already established that it’s not being around a bunch of folks, even though we certainly enjoy at times, the company of others.

It’s how we allow ourselves to react to the condition or conditions that we encounter on a daily basis.  Remember, the Word of God teaches us, Neh …for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

I’m thankful for the sweet joy of the Lord, it does provide to me such strength, that it’s beyond understanding, it does it for me, and it will do it for you.

    Winners never quit!

    • I remember this from many years ago, I didn’t write it, but I would have, if I’d thought of it first!
"When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is strange with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
    When we might have won had we stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
    It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit."
