Did you ever you have to wait and wait for something and wonder if it would ever happen or take place? Sure, we all have!
Waiting is not an easy task; the unknown has a way of working on us and tearing at our nerves, causing us to have anxiety and the feeling of being left all alone in the midst of our trouble, situation or whatever it is that we are waiting on.
The Word of God teaches us to be anxious for NOTHING, but that within itself is not an easy thing.
I myself know this feeling very well, I have always been the kind of person that just likes to get things done and then go on to the next. I must admit I DON’T like to wait.
I have always, from a very young age, been the kind of person who has been very punctual, I don’t like for people to have to wait on me, and I don’t like waiting for others. I’ve often said, if you can spend the energy of what it takes being late, you can certainly spend that same energy and be on time. You’ll really need to think about that one!
I just like being early, on time, which has been a character of mine as I said, for many years.
With all of that being said, there is a lesson to learn in waiting.
- Isa 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
The word wait here does NOT mean sitting still; it actually means, to be busy or active doing something in the mean time. What does a waitress do in a restaurant? She waits on the tables, she serves the people, and this certainly shows that she is staying occupied during this waiting.
This is what God wants from us in our times of waiting on him to perform whatever it may be in our lives that we our desiring for him to do. Remember, God has perfect timing.
So! The next time you are waiting for God to answer a prayer for you, all in good time my friend, even those of us that have the reputation of always being on time and not liking the idea of having to wait, there is a way to do it, stay busy for the Lord.
Praying with YOU in mind,
